The Queen's Head, Sawston
Dating from the days when Queens' Heads were detachable, although that doesn't seem to have happened in this case. Not a good building to look at when you've had a few.

Sawston: sunlight and shadows
This very old Grade II* listed house on the corner of Common Lane and High Street was once The Queen's Head public house. The listing begins "Late C15, altered in C17 with C19 additions. Timber-framed and plastered". The picture was taken on a cloudless mid-November morning.

High Street, Sawston
This was once the main road through Pampisford and Sawston but it has now been by-passed to the west, which is particularly important as the road through Sawston is quite narrow with a number of bends.

A quiet morning in Sawston
With the by-pass closed for much of the day for the third stage of the 2014 Tour de France, the roads to Babraham and Pampisford were the only ways in and out of Sawston and there was very little traffic in the High Street in mid morning.
