Sawston: parked cars and next to no traffic
With the Tour de France due along the by-pass at lunch time, roads were closed from seven in the morning and there was very little traffic in Sawston in mid-morning as people made their way on foot or bike to the main road to find vantage points.

Late C15 or early C16. Timber-framed with plaster infill and weather-boarded underbuilt timber-frame. Plastered plinth. Plain tiled roofs hipped to right hand. Sawston: a stinkpipe on Cambridge Road
Suburban-looking houses near the corner of Eccles Close. On the left of the picture is a concrete-cased sewer vent pipe of the type found in a number of villages in South Cambridgeshire.
