The motion of the pointing figure causes blurring on this 1/8th second exposure.

Cambridge University ends its octocentenary year as it began (Image) with a light show on the Old Schools and Senate House, and this time also round the back of Kings and on Great St Mary's.

View from Great St Mary's Tower. As well as lecture rooms this was the University Library until 1934 when that function moved to the building with the tower in the distance. It is now used for university administration.
