Grasshopper
Sculpture in garden of The Greshams, visible from Gonville Place. Steel, Matthew Lane Sanderson, 2006. The grasshopper was the heraldic device adopted by two successful Tudor merchants, Sir Thomas and Sir John Gresham, to signify their rapid rise from modest rural origins.
