B1383 winding through Littlebury
Littlebury was the childhood home of the photographer's mother and the white house seen centrally (just the nearer half) was her actual house; a farm labourer's cottage in those days. Early childhood holidays spent in the house are recalled when there was no indoor or even any flushing lavatory and water was fetched from a standpipe somewhere near to the salmon pink house. The road is now the B1383 but was once the A11.
