Water Tower in Debden Road, Saffron Walden
Built in 1913 for the Borough of Saffron Walden Water Works. The approximately 28 metres-high red brick Edwardian tower was designed by architect AH Forbes and constructed by local builder J Custerson. The Railway, Saffron Walden
Just to rub in the point that Saffron Walden once had a railway connection, this stands at the junction of Station Road and Station Street. The station itself, which closed in 1964, would have been just behind your photographer. The post box is CB11 15.
