Crown House, Bridge End, Newport (Essex)
Crown House is a late C16 house noted for its elaborate pargetting and the shell-hood above the front door, both added in 1692. It is described in 'The Buildings of England' as "one of Newport's two outstanding houses", the other being Monk's Barn which is already the subject of several Geographs.
