The blue plaque records that the designer, printmaker, painter and illustrator Edward Bawden (1903-89) lived and worked here for the last nineteen years of his life.

Saffron Walden: Primes Close Almshouses
The King Edward VI and Rev Joseph Prime almshouses complex is large. On Park Lane two Grade II listed houses of 1847 face each other across a small green. The bungalows are a 20th-century addition built as a result of a bequest from Rev Joseph Prime.
