The date stone on the right-hand gable reads "Erected by G S Gibson 1881". The building, in Freshwell Street, is Grade II listed.

Saffron Walden - St. Mary's Church interior
I snuck a peak in the door of St. Mary's and snapped this photo. While I was wandering about the Church and grounds the church choir had been practising. It was amazing to have been accompanied by such a beautiful and ethereal sound whilst I was sightseeing. Some things you just can't put into a photograph.

Was too late to go inside but managed to get a photo of this building. They have a display inside entitled "Violet Dix's Trunk" who happened to be a relation of my 2x g-grandmother's.
