Sands View, Brampton
House overlooking the Sands, the large public open space on the east side of Brampton. The house is built on the site of the old Brampton Town station from which, after 1836, a horse-drawn tram service was operated to Brampton Junction on the main Newcastle to Carlisle line. It is from this station that the world's first passenger railway tickets were issued.

Platform of the old Brampton Town Station
Now situated within the garden of a private house. After 1836 a horse-drawn tram was run from Brampton Town to Brampton Junction on the main Newcastle to Carlisle line. It is from this station that the world's first passenger railway tickets were issued.
