Former "White Swan Inn", Wigton - May 2017
Probably mid-19th Century, the "White Swan's" claim to fame is that it was the last pub acquired by the State Management Scheme - in March 1921, over two years after the end of World War I. Sold back to the private sector in 1973 for £6,000, it closed some years ago. Recently a "Youth Station" for children and young people, its present use and future are uncertain.

View of High Street from the Memorial Fountain
The yellow building on the right, now a Chinese takeaway, was formerly the King's Head Inn. It originally had a gallery projecting over the street, and is one of Wigton's oldest buildings (information from "Wigton through time", T.Grahamslaw 2010 http://www.amberleybooks.com/shop/article_9781848688063/Wigton-Through-Time%3CBR%3E%3CI%3ETrevor-Grahamslaw%3C_I%3E.html?shop_param=cid%3D16%26aid%3D9781848688063%26 ).

Noah's Ark and Granvilles, High Street, Wigton - June 2017
Just north of "The Lion" pub, these premises are also probably late 18th Century. While Noah's Ark is still trading, Granvilles is for sale. Photograph is for record only - I have no connection with any business seen in this view and cannot advise on their products or services.

The Lion, High Street, Wigton - June 2017
Also known at various times as the "Lion & Lamb" and the "Lion & Lamb Hotel", this late 18th Century Grade II listed pub escaped the grasp of the State Management Scheme - perhaps persuading Scheme officials it was a "hotel" with no public bar! See also: Image] . Photograph is for record only - I have no connection with this business and cannot advise on its products or services.
