Originally a moveable light was located here in 1864. The current light was built it its original style by Associated British Ports in 1997.

East Cote Lighthouse, Silloth
East Cote Lighthouse once marked the entrance to Silloth Harbour. The need for a lighthouse keeper became unnecessary in 1930 when the light was made automatic. The southern coast of Scotland can be seen across the Solway in the background.
