The Greyhound Inn, Cotehill - April 2017 (1)
Thought to be mid-19th Century, this pub was State managed from February 1918 until sold for £8,250 in 1973. Still trading. See also: Image] and Image State Management Scheme records indicate there was also a pub called "The Retreat" in Cotehill, which was acquired on 1 August 1916. However, there is no trace of these premises on period OS Maps and it may have been a one room "place of ill repute", which was promptly closed by the Board. No record of it being sold by the Board has been found and its location is therefore a mystery. Photograph is for record only - I have no connection with this business and cannot advise on its products or services.
