Former "Black Lion" pub, Durdar - March 2018
This was the original "Black Lion" pub, acquired by the State Management Scheme in March 1918 and later replaced by the Harry Redfern designed 1929 built "Black Lion" almost opposite - see: Image] . The date of this building is unclear, but certainly pre 1865. It is now a private dwelling with no public access.

Black Lion, Durdar - November 2016 (2)
Back of the Harry Redfern designed Black Lion pub. Records indicate that when the State Management Scheme bought the land, they informed HM Treasury there was enough space for a bowling green (an SMS favourite pastime for the working man), but it appears this was not built.
