Currock Villa
A house dating from the mid-Victorian era. The Currock Villa Boys Club was established here in the 1950s, later on it became a mixed youth club but closed down around 2008.
The property has been sold since this photo was taken - it has planning permission for conversion to a residential children's home.

Currock Wagon Works, April 2007
Viewed from a passing train, hence the slightly blurred look. There's a snow plough on the left, then a 'Shark' ballast plough brake van (with a crane behind it) and a VGA goods van.
The yard was closed the year this photo was taken, and vegetation encroached on the site - see photo taken 2009 Image . The late-Victorian shed became derelict, and was demolished in autumn 2016.
Currock was originally a steam engine depot, opened by the Glasgow and South Western Railway in 1896. It passed to the London Midland and Scottish https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London,_Midland_and_Scottish_Railway in the 1920s, when it was converted to a wagon repair works.

Disused Currock railway yard
This was a wagon repair depot which was closed around 2007, the buildings have since deteriorated.

In the distance, the grey building with a sign on it is DW Fitness on Currock Road.
Information update 31.12.16. The shed has now been demolished.
