OS benchmark - Seascale, railway bridge abutment
The rather weathered remains of an OS cutmark on the sandstone of the railway bridge abutment; the almost vanished datum line was originally levelled at 9.071m above Ordnance Datum Newlyn.

My Aunt used to own one of those shops up until a couple of decades ago. In really bad storms the car park would be awash with seawater. Note Neb House on the 'cliff' and also that there was no jetty in 1981.
