Parkin Hill Farm, Appleby
The farmhouse (the lime-washed part of the building) along with the barn that forms the left hand end, are one of two grade II listed properties on this road, this one dates from the late 18th or early 19th century (list entry 1158356). The listing refers to the barn having "arrow slits" but I would consider these to be ventilation openings designed to be too narrow for birds to enter.
