Gasholder demolition Keswick Autumn 1984
This was the site of the former Keswick Gas Works. Following the closure of the works, the two existing large holders stored gas delivered by high-pressure main. Eventually, they were deemed redundant and demolished. The small brick building, with other equipment out of shot, process the gas for distribution around the town. Visible in the background is the Skiddaw massif north of Keswick. Most of the area was eventually cleared, landscaped and used as a council car park (Otley Road long-stay car park) - see Image taken about 30 years later.

Former Stanley's Joiners, Greta Side, Keswick
The former Stanley's Joiners workshop (see my more recent picture Image and the earlier view Image by another author) in the process of conversion to a live-work unit for a furniture maker. The blue building to the right was part of the same workshop, but sold off many years ago and subsequently converted into a live-work unit for a local architect and now under new ownership.
