Brougham Hall (3)
Grade II* listed building (Historic England List Entry Number: 1099141 http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=1099141&resourceID=5 Heritage Gateway).
The oldest remaining parts of the hall are the thirteenth-century gateway, followed by the Tudor Hall, which dates back to around 1480-1520, and the seventeenth-century guardhouse. After World War II, the Hall languished in a derelict state until it was purchased by the current owners in 1967. Today, the hall is the subject of a renovation project by volunteers and is open to visitors throughout the year http://www.broughamhall.co.uk/ .

Door to the Guard House at Brougham Hall
The plaque on the right says 'Guard House'.
The door has a plaque 'Brougham Cupboard'.
This is a nice play on words - Brougham is pronounced broom
while up the road at Brough Castle - Brough is pronounced bruff.
