Drain cover, Belfast
Drainage cover on a footpath at Lancefield Road off the Lisburn Road in Belfast. It bears the name "Joseph Blair, Church Lane, Belfast". Joseph Blair was formed in 1903 as a "plumbing, heating and hardware merchant"; the company is still operating today under the name of Macnaughton Blair Limited (MB Architectural http://www.mbarchitectural.com/ - this followed a merger with Norman MacNaughton Ltd. Image c1972, both firms having been owned by Blue Circle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Circle_Industries . ) and is based in Falcon Road, Belfast. Stop-cock cover, Belfast
What I think is the cover of a stop-cock located on the Lisburn Road in Belfast. It is marked "J Dowling and Sons Ltd., Belfast". I think that this refers to a John Dowling and Sons Limited who were trading in Belfast c1940. Further information welcomed.

Osborne Buildings, Belfast [1]
The architect Charles McAilister designed three separate buildings on the Lisburn Road which were constructed in 1927. Each is fashioned in this quaint 'Old English' style with a half-timbered appearance. This block has shops on the ground floor with apartments above.
