Butterfly, Lagan towpath, Belfast
Feeding on a dandelion beside the towpath. Another member has suggested that this is a green-veined white which, as this distribution map http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/distribution.php?species=napi shows, is common throughout Ireland.

Some of the trees, beside the towpath, have these small number discs (1591 in this case). My understanding is that this is a recognised part of what’s known as a “tree management plan”.
