Ligfordrum Catholic school.
Now abandoned this school served the Catholic community of the surrounding townlands. In the distance you can see the former Protestant school. It's just over "a stone's throw away!!!".

The former Protestant school at Ligfordrum.
Now a house this was once the school that served the protestant children of the townland. In the early 20th century each child would bring carry 2 pieces of turf (locally called peats) for the fire. I personally know one former pupil who sailed through Trinity in Dublin with her Ligfordrum schooling.
