Former Academy Boy's School, Strabane
Located along Derry Road. After it closed, it was then occupied by the Technical College on the opposite side of the road, but now it is closed.

"The Academy" primary school, Derry Road Strabane
Basher, Bomber and Miss Adams come to mind when I look at this photo. I attended here in 1957 and am most thankful for that. Basher was an inspired teacher and Bomber was Mr Stirling the headmaster, a credit to the teaching profession. He could handle the cane and I have only one memory of perhaps one miscarriage of justice. He called a boy to "come here" for punishment who had the same surname as myself. My mind was elsewhere at the time and although I was not the intended victim he told me that I would not have "come here" if I was innocent so his only course of action was to cane both of us. I have only gratitude for Mr Stirling and forgive him entirely.
