Glenarney former school near Cookstown
You wouldn't think that this immaculate dwelling was once a primary school and it holds another surprise. One of the former pupils was Gordon Goody, better known for being one of the Great Train robbers in 1963. He was described as a man whose huge figure and tattooed arms, gave him a fearsome reputation amongst his fellow thieves. Known to the others as "The Ulsterman", he was convicted to 30 years in prison.

Oak tree at Glenarney School
The story goes that this old oak tree which is in the grounds of the former school was the subject of a poem which was written by a poet called Cander in 1926, but there is also some mention of it by an old soldier called Fenton in 1856, which makes it pretty old.
