Land for sale near Lough Skitter
It was initially bought for development during the housing boom, and the project fell through - one feature which it mentions is that the design incorporates the lough as an amenity feature. At present the lough is gradually filling up with vegetation.

As I approached a furtive grey heron took off, which surprised me
