The eastern end of Carolan Road
This cul-de-sac road leads west past, on the one side, The Forge Integrated School, and, on the other, the Lys Marie Convent towards the Wellington College, a leading co-educational Grammar School.

Former Good Shepherd gate lodge, Belfast
The former gate lodge, at the corner of the Ormeau Road (foreground) and Carolan Road, to the Good Shepherd convent (behind the stone wall). Built in 1868 to a design by Sherry and Hughes and modified by JJ McDonnell in 1895. Now occupied by the Belfast Buildings Preservation Trust http://www.bbpt.org/.
