The Cromwell Road, Belfast
Just off Botanic Avenue, the Cromwell Road probably marks the start of bed-sit land. There has been some redevelopment (middle right) making it a lot less grim than some of the neighbouring streets. The view is towards Westminster Street. See also Image

No 53 Cromwell Road, Belfast - November 2015(1)
An end-of-terrace house, at the corner of Lawrence Street (left), probably built around 1877/80, now being redeveloped as housing association flats. The Cromwell Road façade is being retained – everything else will be new. The relevant planning permission is “Z/2014/1103/F 53 Cromwell Road Botanic Avenue Belfast BT7 1JX Proposed extension and conversion of existing building to 9 no. 1 person 1 bedroom apartments.” Image shows the view from Lawrence Street. Another part of bed-sit land and also the land of the eternal skip. The view is towards University Street. Pronunciation varies – “Woolsleigh” and “Wooseleigh” are but two.
