The following text is included, "Numerous local rail companies joined together to form the Great Northern Railway. By July, 1858 the Londonderry line was extended from Portadown to the outside of Dungannon. Later the Dungannon Railway Station was built at Beech Valley after the railway tunnel was completed. The line closed on the 15th February, 1965 just before work started on the M1 motorway. The track has now been lifted and the old station and line has been developed as a walking / cycle route." The following text is included, "John Falls was making Whiskey as early as 1821. Prior to that there was a corn mill on the same site. Thomas Alexander Dixon purchased the Distillery in 1863 and then moved his own corn milling business there." Pictured here Image]

The following text is included, "Ballysaggart is the 'Homestead of the Monks' named after the Franciscan Monastery built near the north side of Black Lough. The Gasworks was later built on the same site. It was an important utility which supplied gas for residents of Dungannon and even as far away as Belfast" Pictured here Image]

The following text is included, "In 1864 Thomas Alexander Dixon started linen weaving at his mill. They supplied uniforms to both sides of the American Civil War. Other goods included Bleached Linens, Suitings, Diapers, Huckabacks, Towels, Tea Towels, etc. The business was managed by successive generations of the Dixon family. During WWII employees were engaged in making munitions for the war effort. They then continued with Linen Weaving until it eventually closed in 1968. The factory then re-opened as a saw mill and timber yard." Pictured here Image]
