Esther's Coffee Shop and Restaurant
Ignore the "TO LET" sign. This popular Portadown restaurant which closed a few weeks ago is reopening under its original management. Esther's, purpose built, was opened in 2003 with Esther Prentice in charge and four years later it changed ownership, but the doors closed earlier this year. Now, after a lot of requests for the restaurant to reopen, it is reverting to its original proprietor and will open at the beginning of June. See Image

Well maintained Terrace Houses
These four houses, known as Belle Vue Place, were built around 1930 on the Armagh Road, just outside the then town boundary of Portadown. The attention to detail by the Architect is reflected in the use of a "dummy chimney stack", on the left of the terrace. The photograph was taken from the grounds of Esther's Restaurant and Coffee Shop. See Image

Another closure due to recession.
These premises, beside Esther's Coffee and Restaurant, were originally built for the sale of antiques and valuable paintings. It then became John Elliot Tailoring for luxury mens' wear. It has now had to close as well as the restaurant. See Image

Apartments site, Portadown (2013-1)
Part of a cleared site at the corner of Connaught Park and Church Street (right). The agents’ board advises that it has “full planning permission for 36 units”. This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no connection with any of the parties involved in the sale. Image shows what was originally proposed for the site.

Apartments site, Portadown (2013-2)
See Image In common with many of the development sites currently offered for sale, this one was to have been the site of a block of apartments which was never built. Part of the previous agent’s board remains together with a drawing showing how they might have been (had they been built). This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no connection with any of the parties involved in the sale or the previous proposal.
