The Ulster Bank, Tandragee
The Ulster Bank branch at 73-75 Market Street – now the only bank in the town since the closure of the Northern Image in May 2012. The bank opened as a branch in November 1836 but closed in September 1837 although a presence was retained in the town with the first manager continuing as agent for Tandragee and Newry, attending Tandragee on one day each week. In May 1844 Tandragee became an agency from Banbridge and later a sub-office to the Lurgan branch. The present premises date from 1977 which appears to have been about the time it was upgraded to a full branch.
