The Northway, Portadown (6)
The elevated section of the Northway (known as the Shillington Bridge – see Image) approaching Castle Street (foreground) after crossing the River Bann (behind the silver car towards the lower right). The construction of this road required the demolition of the former Ulster Railway station Image in Watson Street.

BUT railcars, Portadown
An eight-car NIR BUT set arriving at Portadown with the 09.30 Belfast Gt Victoria Street – Dublin. This was one of several extras running at the start of the Twelfth fortnight. In addition to those heading south on holiday it probably had passengers bound for the Irish army’s refugee centre at Gormanston Camp.
