Marshals swap stories at the Mill Road roundabout
Unpaid and ever enthusiastic, the marshals at the Northwest 200 are paramount in ensuring the safe running of this event at Portrush which annually entices 100,000 plus spectators to turn up time and time again.

Safety men at the Northwest 200
The marshal on the motorbike checks the conditions on the roads prior to, during, and post race. His static colleague holds the spectators out of harm's way and should the need arise enables ambulances and emergency vehicles access to the track.

Paramedic, paraphernalia, and bike
Dressed accordingly and carrying the necessary gear to cater for any trauma, this paramedic is about to mount his motorbike and fly around this circuit which is one of the world's fastest. Some competitors will hit 200 mph plus on this circuit which is verged by trees and stone walls and it is this paramedic and his mounted colleagues who will be on hand in the first terrible instance.

Mounted paramedics at the annual Northwest 200 races are preparing for the next race at Portrush. These paramedics are very accomplished motorcyclists and follow the competitors around the circuit to enable immediate assistance to any fallen rider.
