The Guildhall, Derry/Londonderry
The Guildhall dates from 1887. The original building, named in honour of the London guilds, cost £19,000 to build and was officially opened in 1890 as the administrative centre of the Londonderry Corporation. Razed to the ground in 1908 and destroyed by a number of bomb attacks in 1972, it was carefully restored and reopened in 1978. A flush bracket bench mark, numbered OSBM 3362, is located on the eastern side of the building Image
