Steel security gates above New Gate.
For much of the Troubles access to the city walls was restricted. These steel gates, together with others on the North Wall, can, and are. still be used to regulate movement along the walls in the event of civil unrest. The spire in the background is that of St Columb's CofI Cathedral.
