Peace mural, Ebrington
This mural, by Fintan Magee, an Australian whose father originates in Derry, is to be found on on the gable wall of the Ebrington hotel, formerly soldiers' quarters in what was once British Army barracks in Ebrington Square across from Derry on the east side of the River Foyle. The girl with the dove behind the cobblestone texture glass symbolises a move away from the city's troubled past. The whale references Dopey Dick, the killer whale which swam up the River Foyle in 1977.
