Statue, the People's Park, Ballymena
A statue, at the south western end of the People’s Park, which shows the effects of the passage of time. The inscription, on the plinth, reads “IN M*MO*A**ON OF THE VISIT OF *OHN POYNTZ EARL SPENCER K.C. LORD LIEUTENANT OF IRELAND AND COUNTESS SPENCER 12TH AUGUST ***2 THIS STATUE IS DEDICATED BY ROBERT A*EXR SHAFTO. LORD WAVENEY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF OPENING THIS PARK. THE ORIGINAL STATUE WAS PRESENTED TO THE ROYAL REGT OF ARTILLERY WOOLWICH BY COL. LORD WAVENEY A.D.C TO THE QUEEN”.

A large park and leisure facility to the north of Ballymena Town. The twelve acres was donated by the Adair Family and includes a lake, complete with many ducks and swans.
