The turrets of the Barbican Gate at Antrim Castle
This image was taken from Dublin Road. Little remains of the 17thC Antrim or Massereene Castle apart from the gatehouse. The main building was destroyed by fire in 1922.

Pillar box, Antrim
EIIR pillar box at the back of the old courthouse Image According to the “Shire” guide to old letter boxes, this cast-iron pillar box is a design (1974) replacing sheet-steel rectangular boxes, introduced in 1968 which subsequently proved defective. The design was relatively short lived being replaced by a cylindrical version in 1980. This is the only one of the type that I have (consciously) seen in NI.
