Reclaimed land, Belfast Harbour estate (October 2016)
Much of the eastern side of the harbour estate (including the City Airport) is built on reclaimed land. This area (once used as open storage), to the north west of Airport Road West, remains undeveloped and covered in yellow wildflowers. The intention is that it will become a new cruise-ship terminal. The original proposal for one in the Titanic Quarter http://www.geograph.org.uk/snippet/9348 has been abandoned.
