Portrait Bench
Sustrans Portrait Bench on the Newtownabbey Way at Mossley. This shared-use path is part of a traffic-free cycle route between Mossley Mill and Belfast, about 9 miles, on the National Cycle Network's Route 93. The Portrait Benches are erected in various locations throughout the UK and represent the local people of the area. This one depicts, from left to right, a local angler who fishes the nearby Threemilewater River, a mill-girl from the former flax-spinning mill at Mossley and the onetime stationmaster of a local railway station, possibly Whiteabbey.

The Londonderry line viaduct (background) seen through an arch of the down Larne line viaduct. Both are of reinforced concrete and had, through time, become a nasty shade of grey. They were extensively refurbished as part of the renewal works before restoration of passenger services to the Bleach Green – Antrim section in 2001.
