The "Crown and Shamrock", Ballyvesey, Newtownabbey
Reputedly one of Co Antrim’s oldest bars and a former coaching inn but I cannot find any confirmation of such claims. The best I can offer is that the 1907 Carnmoney village directory shows the publican as one WJ Lee. It has this plaque Image

A plaque, on the “Crown and Shamrock” on the Antrim Line Image, commemorating Francis Joseph Bigger http://www.ulsterhistory.co.uk/bigger.html. He was born in Little Donegall Street Image but there is now no trace of the family home.

Route confirmatory sign near Sandyknowes, Newtownabbey (July 2018)
Northbound route confirmatory sign on the Antrim Road. A reminder of the days, before the M2, when this was the main road from Belfast to a wide area between Cookstown and Ballycastle.
