Crossmaglen Rangers Gaelic Athletic Club, Dundalk Road, Crossmaglen
The history of this well-known GAA club dates back to 1887. Based next to the RUC station, sections of its grounds were requisitioned by the British Army for the erection of Fort XMG in the 1970s. The well-protected PSNI station at Crossmaglen
The present structure occupies the site of the former Police/Army base known as Fort XMG which overlooks the square of this strongly republican town. The observation structure, so prominent a feature of the old base, has been replaced by a tall telecommunications mast with security cameras. Image
