This is one of four places of worship in Newtownhamilton, the other three being a Catholic Chapel a Presbyterian Church and a Gospel Hall. Some 62% of the town's 2,800 population belong to or were brought up in the Catholic religion and 34.77% belong to or were brought up in a 'Protestant and Other Christian' religion.
