A sobering thought near the entrance to the Mourneview Caravan Park
Lamp posts play an important part in Northern Irish culture, when not supporting a flag or painted red white and blue, they carry gloomy messages of imminent doom. Judging by the emptiness of the roads these messages are aimed at Sunday morning walking heathens from the mainland like myself. Ulster Sundays are reminiscent of those of Welsh Wales in the 1950s.
