River Bann (view downstream), Lindsay's Bridge, Ballydown
The River Bann is crossed by nine bridges from Katesbridge to the Water Bridge in Banbridge. This is the view downstream from Lindsay’s Bridge at Ballydown. The Lindsay family had its origins in Scotland settling near Banbridge in the late 17th century. They eventually entered the linen trade becoming involved with Ballydown Bleachworks.

Lindsay's Bridge, Banbridge
See Image This is Lindsay’s Bridge with the Bann flowing from right to left. The water level is very low after a long dry spell. There is quite a pile of detritus against the bridge. Some persistent heavy rain will be needed to increase the flow and remove it.
