The telephone exchange at Seaforde
The exchange is the small brick building behind the security gates. The building on the right is instantly recognisable as a former RUC station. These highly distinctive buildings, built to a design by the English architect, T.F.O. Rippingham, are common throughout the province. As the nature of policing has changed, many have been decommissioned and sold, as here, for housing, others have been replaced by bland concrete and glass structures. http://www.dia.ie/architects/view/4549 Image
