Ruined cottage on Ballysallagh Road
The census of 1911 shows that these now ruined cottages along the northern section of Ballysallagh Road were inhabited by agricultural labourers and their families. A surprising number could neither read or write. Right across the religious spectrum, the women tended to be more literate than their men.
