GPO Cable Marker, Glenavy
What I assume is an old GPO cable marker on the Crumlin Road in Glenavy - although I have seen other kinds, this style is new to me so clarifications are welcome. It is marked 'GPO' at the top Image and appears to have had some numbers at the base, but these have mostly worn off and are unreadable. Possibly this is a "street pillar" - see http://www.britishtelephones.com/gpo/pillar.htm .

"Virtual" house, Glenavy
I've seen several of these "virtual" buildings in various locations, empty properties made to look as if they are still in use by the clever and creative application of photographic interior murals fixed to the windows. This one even has a virtual door which caught my eye as I cycled past otherwise I might have missed it. Mostly shops, cafes etc but this is the first house I've seen to get the makeover treatment. Obviously done to make the place look less rundown and raise the tone of the neighbourhood. I wonder who came up with the idea in the first place.
