The PSNI flag flying at half mast at Hillsborough on the day of the funeral of the murdered Constable Ronan Kerr
Constable Kerr, a Catholic member of the PSNI, was killed at Omagh by a car bomb planted by dissident republicans. This atrocity united the North's twin communities in utter rejection of political violence.

A field beside the Lisburn Road – possibly the last surviving and undeveloped one within the village (strictly speaking Hillsborough now counts as a small town for official purposes). There is, however, a new development, known as Marquess Court, under construction near the field (top left).

A wildflower which grows in what would otherwise be regarded as barren places – quarries, derelict buildings and, in this case, an old stone wall at the Lisburn Road (Millvale Road on the Google map) end of the Culcavy (also Culcavey) Road Image It comes in white, pink and red and has an unpleasant smell.

Hillsborough PSNI Station
For some time this station has been manned on a part time basis, being open on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
