See Image The same bridge, seen from the Cahard Road, looking towards Crossgar and Downpatrick. The vegetation seems to grow profusely along old railway lines but sometimes, as here, not so profusely under the old bridges.

See Image The same road, in this square, as it passes through the drumlins of mid/east Down. The view is towards Saintfield. The traditional gate posts, with conical tops, were said to be a way of keeping the Devil from sitting on them (presumably he intended resting before venturing through).
