Former railway station, Ballygowan (1)
30 years after the line had closed the goods shed remained but the passenger station had been demolished. The site is now protected by a high fence.

The goods shed at Ballygowan Station (closed 1950). Ballygowan was once a stop on the Belfast & County Down Railway from Belfast Queen's Quay to Newcastle.

The Saintfield Road, Ballygowan (February 2015)
The old line (left), now stopped up, and the present line of the Saintfield Road. I don’t know when the road was rebuilt but it seems reasonable to suggest that it might have been the mid to late 1960’s.
